Thank you for your interest in our company. I’m Michael Hawkins, the creator behind Pronto Electronic Displays LLC, the company that owns and operates this website.

My interest in electronics began when my dad gave me a Heathkit AM radio kit for Christmas. I spent many evenings with the warm glow of vacuum tubes while listening to Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” on the radio. That early experience sparked a lifelong fascination with electronics and eventually led me to Silicon Valley, where I worked with technologies ranging from microwave systems and embedded microcontrollers to silicon chip manufacturing and printed circuit board design.

Even after retiring from corporate life, my enjoyment of designing electronic circuits never faded.

While developing an LED dot‑matrix character display, I encountered several obstacles: expensive and complex driver chips, opaque firmware, and the need to design a PCB from scratch. The display module offered here was created to eliminate those barriers. My goal is to provide designers and engineers with a practical, transparent, and reliable solution that opens the door to many new use cases for this display technology.
